Kinley Chenzom, 24 years old, a primary school dropout, is a member of SABAH Bhutan. She is a single mother with two children. Before joining SABAH Bhutan, she earned her living through weaving for customers but it was a very unstable earnings. She could barely earn Nu 5,000 a month to pay for her home expenses (grocery) and provide for the children. She heard about SABAH Bhutan from her friends and she joined SABAH Bhutan in 2014. In two years, she underwent different levels of training in weaving different products (cushion cover, table mat, bed runner, stole and muffler) and this drastically increased her income.
In a few years time, with her skills and the training received, she will be able to train other weavers.

Sonam Lhamo, is 37 years old and hasn't gone to school at all. She has been weaving since the age of 9 and has 28 years experience in weaving. She is divorcee and lives with her 8-year-old son. Before joining SABAH Bhutan, She weaves highly intricate traditional dress for others and most times her payments from customers were either delayed or not paid fully. She heard about SABAH Bhutan from her friends who were members of SABAH Bhutan. She then joined as a HBW member in 2014.
Since then she is one of the most active members and contributes a lot of ideas and imparts skills to other HBWs. She now earns at least Nu 9,000-10,000 a month.
She can able to introduce herself and her designation among her friends. She has potential to train other in various weaving and that makes her proud of her self.

Karma Deki, 30 years old, is originally from Samdrupjongkhar (a remote village in the eastern Bhutan) but lives in Thimphu for more than 12 years now.
She lives with her husband and her 2 daughters. Her husband works in Supreme High Court and earns an income of Nu.24,000 per month which she says is not enough to support the family. She said that her family faces financial problems mainly since she has many dependents to support.
She came to know about SABAH Bhutan through a friend and thought it would help in financial expense, as she has been weaving at the age of 15 years old.
She has been with the organization for almost 1 year and she says that her life has improved a lot since she joined SABAH Bhutan. She is a Member in SABAH Bhutan and she earns Nu.8000 per month, she spends for her child education and for her household chores. One of the major changes in her life was that now she has a constant monthly income so she can make financial plans for her family.
